From the Council’s point of view, this is a significant investment in Moneymore, and in line with the ethos of the community capacity hubs’ programme, the results will enhance the social and recreational opportunities for local people in a modern facility on their doorstep."

Speaking at the facility, Chair of Mid Ulster District Council’s Policy and Resources Committee, Councillor Derek McKinney,

"CWSAN is delighted to be working in partnership with Mid Ulster District Council to deliver this investment. Round Lake Park Fivemiletown

"Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic more people visited outdoor spaces for exercise and this trend has continued," Mr Poots said of the opening of the facilities.

"As we continue on the pathway to recovery I am delighted to see the completion of these excellent facilities at Round Lake Park in Fivemiletown, which my Department has contributed £500,000 through the Rural development Programme."

“The total £1m investment which has resulted in improvements to vehicle and pedestrian access to the site along with improvements to play facilities and the walk way surrounding the lake, refurbishment of the Lake House and improvements to camping and caravanning amenities will improve the standard and quality of the recreational infrastructure for the residents of Fivemiletown and the surrounding communities."

Rural Affairs Minister Edwin Poots MLA

"It’s fantastic to see these significant improvements to Round Lake which will benefit visitors from near and far alike,” McLean said.

“As well as improving the experience of walks and caravans and campers on site, the refurbishment has opened up access to the site for both local people and for people with disabilities.”

“The inclusion of a new Changing Places facility will not only enable users to use the facility in a safe, clean and dignified manner, but also in a wider sense, allows those with complex disability and their carers a greater choice of places to go, or in this case, to stay."

Craigavon Area Hospital
Surgical Ambulatory & Assessment Unit (SAAU)

"This refurbishment project appears to be well run to professional standards. In summary, site has considerate practices with outcomes as very good (3) and excellent (2) and congratulations are due.
Appearance is to a very good standard based on some photographs and the description discussed with the SM. Site appears to have very good relations with staff contacts and well manages interfaces in the "live environment". It is committed to providing a very thoughtful legacy by refurbishing a quiet room and courtyard garden area. The Enviro and Safety approaches use the company certified systems. Site has been awarded an
excellent score in the Enviro section primarily because of its contribution to the natural environment which undoubtedly will have positive impact on the user community.
Workforce needs are overall to a very good standard given the nature of the job and beneficial client provisions. The site was a pleasure to visit with very many thanks to Gerard for his time and courtesy in facilitating the virtual visit and supplying the photographs."
"Site demonstrates an excellent considerate approach to its impact on neighbours and the public. Direct communications are through a nominated staff team and SM has daily and regular planned contact. Working hours agreed with Estates Department as 7.30-17.00 and impacted staff agree arrangements for potentially disruptive work. Effective traffic management and site has white panels as temporary hoarding and has relevant signage including CCS poster – SM plans to display a CCS banner when compound area is available in the New Year

Site is overall taking a very good approach to attaining high levels of safe performance - this is a "live environment" requiring management of interfaces with hospital staff, patients and the public. SM has biweekly TBT's and site benefits from access to a defibrillator at the adjacent A&E unit.
Workforce completed OH questionnaires and benefit from Private Health Insurance with Health Screening to be made available when pandemic
permits."

Kirkwall Air Traffic Control Tower Refurbishment

" Major works to any of Hial’s assets always present a number of challenges – from remote locations and adverse weather conditions to supply chains.

“Works in the visual control room offered a particular challenge as the project scope included replacement of the large, heavy glazing panels.

“Bell Contracts and Kirkwall Airport staff worked collaboratively to overcome these challenges while maintaining airport operations and deliver this transformational project."

Keith Inglis, head of infrastructure services at Highlands and Islands Airports Limited (Hial)

"Early completion of this refurbishment is good news. Having visited the tower at Kirkwall airport last year, I know how badly it was needed."
